Our Broadway Debut at Duke

Look out Broadway...we may be giving you a bad name!

Chad and I participated in Duke Divinity School's first annual Broadway Revue this past Friday night. The Broadway Revue provided an opportunity for faculty, staff, Ph.D. students, and Master's students to get to know one another a little better. In addition, it was a community event to raise money and awareness for the Alliance of AIDS Services of the Carolinas. About 500 people attended the event so I think we raised awareness, but we're still accepting donations for the rest of the week so I don't know how much money we've raised.

As you can see from the pictures, Chad and I did our part to represent the Ph.D. students. We sang in the four big numbers AND performed a duet for everyone's amusement. We sang "Anything you can do, I can do better" from Annie Get Your Gun complete with an introductory segue adapted from our own lives. It was hilarious if I do say so myself.

My mom came up for the event, but I failed to take any pictures. She has officially dubbed herself our groupie. It kind of has a nice ring to it, don't you think? It was great to see her for a bit, but I'll be glad when the summer visits are here. Then I can play a little more without feeling guilty about not doing work! I'll probably be loading more pictures to my facebook photo book soon for anyone who wants to laugh a little more.

There's video somewhere, but I haven't seen it. Let's just say that I doubt our comedic act will be going public anytime soon!

I'm proud of my sassy friend and her accomplishments, including her comedic debut!
