I received my first check from a publisher this summer. It was pretty cool, but I must say that I'm thankful that I don't have to make a living by writing. If you can see the numbers on the picture to the left, you will see that I received a grand total of $17.50 from Presbyterian Publishing Corporation for my first set of entries. That's right, $17.50...$0.05 a word! Pretty awesome, huh? I thought so. You'll be able to read my brilliant prose in the forthcoming
Westminster Dictionary of Women in American Religious History. I'm anxiously awaiting my free copy!
As for this glorious check, I've decided not to cash it. I'm going to hang on to it and frame it for my office or something, that is, of course, unless I get desperate! I should be okay for now though because I just received a check for my second set of entries. This time I received $22.50 - I'm raking in the big bucks now :-)

It will be quite some time before this one makes its appearance. I actually do not even know what the set publication date is!
