63 days and counting...

63 days from today I will take my first doctoral exam. That's right - it's my turn for that dreaded time in every doctoral program...comps. I'm already nervous. I started counting the number of books, articles, etc. that I have left to read before said exams start and let's just say I will be skimming some of that glorious material. I've got to figure out a reading schedule soon though or I will spend the next 63 days either a) completely overwhelmed or b) procrastinating by preparing for the baby instead. Yes, that's right, without a schedule and deadlines I'm a horrible student. I need motivation. Kate and I devised a point system this summer complete with charts and stickers that worked pretty well for awhile. I mean, she passed her exams so it couldn't have been too terrible of a system. Perhaps I shall give it another go.

Yeah, I know, it's a pretty boring post, but I promise to post some Christmas pictures soon to lighten the mood.

Friend, I know you will kick butt on your exams. Study your booty off, but remember to take time for you, Chad, and Baby MacEgg now and then. And since I know my future neice will be like super freaking smart because he/she has the smartest people in the world for parents, I'm not worried at all. You'll have TWO brains taking comps instead of one - even if Baby MacEgg's brain is the size of a peanut or walnut. :)

As I read through my previous comment, I realized MY brain was obviously typing a message and worrying about my own stuff, because I KNOW that Baby MacEgg is a girl. He/She? Geez. I'm losing it.
