8.5 pounds and counting

Today we went for another prenatal checkup. So far, so good. We met with another wonderful midwife who helped us hear our daughter's heartbeat. It was as strong as ever! My blood pressure is nice and low - yay! And, apparently my weight gain is pretty "normal." 8.5 pounds thus far (19 weeks). They say that 10 pounds by 20 weeks is what they use as a general rule. Regardless, gaining weight is weird. I know that I'm supposed to gain weight, but it is still difficult to get over the mindset that weight gain is bad. Plus I'm no longer able to wear many of my pre-pregnancy clothes (at least not comfortably!), which makes packing for this weekend's American Society of Church History conference especially difficult. Sigh.

oh mandy, I so know how you feel! This weight gain thing is weird, all of our lives we are programmed to think weight gain is bad and now, we are suppossed to gain weight...will we ever get used to it? It was GREAT to see you last week...if only it could have been longer! :)
