Since having a child, I've become more aware of places that are kid-friendly. We are regulars at the CFA on Ann Street because of their hospitable attitude toward the little ones. Indoor play area and free ice cream? Yes, please! We also find ourselves eating at a lot of places that children eat free. Seriously, sometimes you just need a break from cooking and it's fabulous to pay for two instead of three. So, here are a few of the places we've found around here that offer free dining options for the under 12 set.
Tuesday nights - Moe's Southwest Grill (they also have "entertainment" for the kids...our favorite are the Abrakadoodle ladies who paint faces, but the balloon guys are also pretty impressive)
Thursday nights - Earth Fare
Everyday - Chappy's Deli
All of August (4pm-10pm) - IHOP (we frequented this lovely establishment tonight)

When I get back to blogging I'm going to have to cross CFA off my "favorite things to blog about" list.
The next time you are in Birmingham on a Tuesday night check out the CFA on 280. With the purchase of an adult combo meal you get a kids meal free. If you return the toy(or book) you get free ice cream as well. Every Tuesday is a different theme and the cows dress up accordingly. It's pretty great. There aren't too many places where a family of four can all eat for less than $13.
I also hear that O'Charlys has a kids eat free policy, but we've never been.
Aw, Rita...don't cross it off the list! My post was barely about CFA ;-) We turn in the toy for ice cream too (A lot of times I get myself a kid's meal!). I can't tell you how badly I wish I they had a kids eat free night though. That would be awesome. I should have mentioned that you have to buy an adult entree to get the free kids meals...still worth it to me though.
