Friday Favorites

One of my all-time favorite hymns:

Be Thou My Vision

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art:
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be thou my wisdom, and Thou my true word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord:
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son,
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, or man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven't joys, O bright heav'n's Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

Words: Ancient Irish; translated by Mary E. Byrne; versified by Eleanor H. Hull
Music: Traditional Irish Melody; harm. David Evans

This is definitely one of my favorite hymns! It was a huge encouragement 10 years ago when I first went to China and was headed to my city of a million people and I was the only foreigner there and I spoke NO CHINESE. I can remember when Father put this on my heart sitting on my apartment steps and how much comfort it brought to me. Love it! :)

This IS my most favorite hymn!! So glad you posted all the verses- I love them!

I just saw your post on my blog about the bow holder...here is the link! :)

But here is a tip- if you have a lot of bows (like we do), they will cover up the whole board and then you can hardly see the cute fabric!! (I should have just used something cheap and boring- ha!)
