Okay so most of you probably already know about this by now since it's been around facebook and such, but I thought I'd post it anyway. FreeRice.com is a great tool for learning vocabulary and a wonderful (easy) way to help feed the hungry. It's quite addictive so who knows how many people you might help feed? :-)
I'm going to try to post the link to the facebook group as well, but I don't know if it will work. You should be able to search for it under groups on facebook if you wanted to join, or if you wanted to read more about the program. Of course, you could also just head on over to FreeRice.com and check out the information there. Be sure to play a game while you're at it; it's fun!
Here's a few of the basic details to whet your appetite:
It's a simple word game. Match the word given to the correct definition (it's multiple choice). The computer will adjust the difficulty level as you answer. The more questions you answer correctly, the harder the words! One right answer is 20 grains of rice for someone without food. Spread the word!
