I'm so glad that you gals gave me an excuse to write more about this :-) In answer to your questions, I did use coupons. Also, a lot of the stuff was already on sale, allowing me to maximize my savings. So, for those of you who are still interested, here's the scoop on the deals I scored at Publix this week. These deals are good through Tuesday. (And just to repeat myself, you should really visit Southern Savers. She breaks sales down by stores and gives you the coupon match-ups from papers and even links to online coupons. Jenny has saved me SO much time. If nothing else, you should check out her 5 tips for shopping at Pubix. Here's the link to this week's sale.)
2 Liter Coke products were 3/$4 - I used a $1 off 3 from the Back to School savings booklet found at the front of Publix
1 2L Coke ($1)
1 2L Sprite ($1)
1 2L Cherry Coke ($1)
Frosted Mini Wheats are B1G1 free this week (reg. price $4.19) and I had a B1G1 free coupon thanks to Jennifer's brilliant coupon trading group. Since Publix rings up B1G1 free things as half-price, I would have paid $2.10 for one box and $2.09 for the second box. With the coupon, I just paid $2.09 for one box, making the 2 boxes a little over $1 each.
1 Box of Frosted Mini-Wheats (Bite Size) ($2.09)
1 Box of Strawberry Frosted Mini-Wheats (FREE)
These were also B1G1 this week (reg. $5.99). I had a $3 off coupon from a recent paper. I only bought one (and, remember one B1G1 item rings up half-price) so it was free.
1 Starkist Seasations Fish Fillets (FREE)
These were the most expensive items I bought, but my child loves them. They were on sale for $3.49 from their normal price of $4.99 and I had a coupon for $1 off of 2 Organic Valley products from the Go Organic booklets (Anna snagged me some from Publix, but I think they were similar - if not the same - as the ones I grabbed at a Kroger in Carrollton, GA)
2 Bags Organic Valley String Cheese ($2.99/each - these things are normally $4.99 each!)
These were B1G1 (reg. $3.89). I didn't have a coupon, but I figured that a skillet meal for under $2 was still a steal so I went all out and bought 2 :-)
1 Birds Eye Voila Garlic Shrimp ($1.98)
1 Birds Eye Voila Chicken Penne with Vegetables ($1.97)
These were on sale B1G1 and I had a $1 coupon (reg. price $2.89)
1 Alexia Natural Crunchy Snacks (I picked the Ranch version) ($0.45)
These were B1G1 and we love couscous and easy rice dishes so I bought 2 even though I didn't have a coupon (reg. $2.19)
1 Box of Near East Parmesan Couscous ($1.10)
1 Box of Near East Whole Grain Blends ($1.09)
This was also B1G1. I had a coupon for $1 off 1 so I only bought one (reg. price $2.79)
1 Lawry's 30 minute Marinade ($0.36)
These were the 4 things I bought specifically for the Kraft rebate. I was trying to spend as little as possible, but also to buy things that we would use. Fortunately, some of it was on sale. Unfortunately, I didn't have any coupons
1 Kraft Raspberry Vinaigrette Good Seasons Dressing ($1.50) - These were B1G1 so I got it half off (reg. price $2.99)
1 Box Vanilla Jello Pudding ($1.09) - not on sale
1 Box Cookies and Cream Jello Pudding ($1.39) - not on sale
1 bottle Kraft Honey BBQ Sauce ($1.29) - (reg. price $1.49, I think)
These were in the freezer section and they're on close out at our Publix. (Reg. price $3.79)
1 bag Morningstar Farms Veggie dogs ($1.99)
This was the deal I was super excited about. These products can run $2.49-$2.99 each normally. They were all on sale 2/$4 and I had coupons for $1/2 from the Go Organic booklets. I was THRILLED to stock up on these. I may go back tomorrow or Tuesday and get more if I think we can get them in our freezer :-)
2 bags Cascadian Farm Organic French Fries ($1.50/each)
1 bag Cascadian Farm Organic Green Beans ($1.50)
1 bag Cascadian Farm Organic Sweet Peas ($1.50)
1 box Cascadian Farm Organic Spinach ($1.50)
1 bag Cascadian Farm Organic Edamame ($1.50)
So, there you have it. Not too exciting, I know, but Anna and Rita did ask (that's my excuse anyway!). Happy Sunday!
