Anyway, my friend Melissa did much better with her handmade goals. Check out some of the cool things she made here.
Here is my feeble attempt at a homemade Christmas gifts: a bow holder for Cady's room. I had been wanting one for awhile because all of her bows (which she rarely wears, but I feel compelled to keep orderly) were stuffed in the top of a card box in a ziploc bag in a drawer. Phew. But, being the indecisive person that I am I could not decide which one to get. Plus, they can be pricey. My friend Amy tipped me off that I could buy this wooden thing for about $3 so I decided to make it. I made one for my cousin Michelle's baby girl too. EvaClaire's had a lime green background with polka dots (I failed to take a pic of it before I wrapped it, and I refused to unwrap it for a picture). It was cute too, but I liked the way Cady's turned out better. So, without further ado, here it is:
If any of you are interested in one for a child with bow containment needs, let me know. I'll make you a deal as I'm always interested in night projects to keep my mind off my day job. Sigh. Bird by bird, as Anne Lamott would say.

Well done! It's too cute! :D
Ummm....that is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I love how it matches her crib set (doesn't it? i seem to remember birdies on the bumper or something...) :)
If I had a boy, I would definitely commission one!
This looks great!
Aw, thanks friends! I had such a great time making them. Chad even got into it by helping me measure and cut the ribbon :-) And, yes, Kristin, it does match her bedding...good memory!
